How to Shock and Delight This Thanksgiving

We’re so grateful for the talented makers we’ve featured in previous issues, that, for Thanksgiving, we wanted to highlight the amazing specials they are offering for the holiday. Whether you’re looking for something sweet or savory, there’s something for everyone’s table. So read up and place your orders ASAP–before these one-of-a-kind treats sell out.
For a limited time only, L'Appartement 4F founders Ashley and Gautier Coiffard are bringing back one of the sweet treats that helped them build their cult following: their Tarte Aux Pommes, a classic apple pie (serves 6-8, $42.50). Now that’s something to be thankful for!
Pre-orders online until November 16th. Pies can be picked up at their Brooklyn Heights bakery between November 21st-24th.

Kimchi Kooks founder Kate Kooks is serving up a special Banchan menu of freshly prepared Korean classics, such as Kate’s Thanksgiving Stuffing, which is made with Goguma (Korean sweet potato), Kabocha pumpkin, crushed Dubu (tofu), and sweet rice, steamed with rosemary and topped with cranberries and walnuts ($12).
Dishes are available at Kate’s Kitchen in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, from November 22nd to November 24th, or until they sell out.
As part of their holiday pop up with Zaza Lazagna’s Zahra Tangorra, Dacha 46 founders Jessica and Trina Quinn are making Thanksgiving-inspired treats with an Eastern European twist: a pumpkin-spiced Medovik Honey Cake (feeds 12-15, $160) and honeynut squash khachapuri pelmeni ($23).

Just for Thanksgiving, the fan-favorite ice cream shop is offering three delectable desserts: bourbon pecan ice cream pie with candied pecans (serves 8-10, $35), peach cobbler ice cream pie (serves 8-10, $32), and sweet potato ice cream pie with toasted marshmallow ($32).
Pre-order online until November 17th, or purchase at their Harlem store until November 23rd (or whenever pies sell out).
The Bushwick-based meadery is offering a special four-pack ($100 + shipping) of potables that pairs perfectly with Thanksgiving dinner, featuring a wild flower wild fermented fry honey wine, an elderberry pet-nat dry mead that’s wild fermented and naturally sparkling, a very limited-edition caramelized mead, and a wild fermented apple mead.
Pre-orders must be placed online by November 18th for delivery by Thanksgiving.
Founder Sacha Gross is offering four special galettes this Thanksgiving ($40 each). His savory offering includes a dijon mustard and parmesan base with caramelized leeks, a parmesan base with beefsteak tomatoes seasoned with salt and garlic, and a goat cheese and caramelized onion. If you’re looking for something sweet, he’s also making a pear apple galette with brown butter.

In collaboration with chef Tom Colicchio, chef Fany Gerson has created a special Thanksgiving box ($45) of sweet treats featuring seasonal flavors such as roasted sweet potato with marshmallow meringue, pumpkin cheesecake with pumpkin seed brittle, and “pecan pie à la mode,” which is a vanilla bean cream with caramel-pecan glaze. If you need any additional incentive: a portion of the proceeds will go to the Independent Restaurant Coalition.
Pre-order online 48 hours in advance. There will be limited quantities available for drop-ins at Fan Fan’s Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, location from November 18th to November 30th. Deliveries are available with a two-box minimum.
Iranian chef Nasrin Rejali created a special dinner “for every brave girl and woman of my homeland” ($75). The meal, which features a wide range of Persian dishes with a Thanksgiving twist (think turkey, walnut, pomegranate, molasses, onion, saffron, sugar, and spices served with basmati saffron rice).
Order online. Pick up is available at Chelsea Market, and deliveries will arrive between 6-730pm on November 24th.
Dria Atencio is offering one special this Thanksgiving, and it’s a good one. The baker is making an orange-scented olive oil double-layer cake filled with cranberry curd and topped with toasted pumpkin pie-spice meringue. It’s available in two sizes, the 6” (feeds 4-6, $60) and 8” (feeds 8-12, $100).
Venmo @saltylunchlady by November 20th to order. Pick ups are available on November 23rd and 24th in Ridgewood, and can also be delivered by Uber Package.
Sarah Magid’s Brooklyn-based bakery, which is beloved for its gluten-free, vegan, sourdough and sugar-free baked goods, has several seasonal specials, including pies inspired by the classics (think pumpkin, apple, and chocolate pecan, with prices ranging from $58-$94 for 9” pies), par-baked shells ($20), and other sweet treats. If you’re looking for something savory, and still gluten-free, they’ll also have bags of sourdough stuffing ($24).
Pre-order online by November 16th. Anything leftover will be available at GrowNYC Greenmarkets (November 19 in Fort Greene and McCarren Park from 8am - 2pm, November 23rd in Union Square from 8am - 4pm). But there are no guarantees!
