What Alice Moireau Can’t Live Without
The French tastemaker is visiting NY–and bringing a taste of her homeland.
The Deligram shines a spotlight on the many incredible food artisans in New York and beyond, and we look to our friends to help us discover the best of the best every day. This week, we spoke to Alice Moireau, the French food world tastemaker, model, cookbook author, and founder of Table, a playful yet high-end tableware and home goods brand. A former New York resident, Moireau is returning this weekend, with her collection in tow, for a pop up at Salter House in the East Village this weekend. Swing by for the opening on November 17th from 6-8pm to enjoy vin chaud, a hot wine speciality from France, and a limited selection of gingerbread cookies by The Deligram favorite From Lucie. (The pop up will be open November 18th and 19th from 12-7pm.)
As a teaser of what to expect, we asked Moireau for some of the things she can’t live without.
Alice Moireau’s Favorite Things
Negus, €10 for 65g, lameredefamille.com
“I’m not a big candy person, but when it gets to Negus I can eat a whole box of these. They are handmade in Never, France, and were named after a king visiting the town and was offered some sweets as a welcome treat! The box itself is gorgeous and can be kept for spices or biscuits storage.”
Table apron, €150, table-table.fr
“My favorite Table item has to be an apron! I love leaving my apron on when my guests arrive, it adds a layer to a look and it’s also fun to match it with your tablecloth or napkins. This one is woven in Burgundy, France.”
Plasticana Hemp Shoes, $58, gardenheir.com
“To cook there is nothing more comfortable than a good pair of hemp shoes. They’re more used for gardening, but are a great accessory to spend the day in the kitchen.”
Épices Roellinger’s Poudre des Bulgares, €8.10 for 100g, epices-roellinger.com
“The best spice brand in the world might be Épices Roellinger ! I have had a consistent crush for the last four years on their Poudre des Bulgares, a yogurt topping made with palm sugar, sesame seeds, cardamom, and rose buds.
Kaïa Olive Oil, €18 for 50cl, worldofkaia.com
“Kaïa Olive Oil is a very special oil created by my friend Sarah Ben Romdane. It’s an independent brand on a mission to change the future of Tunisian olive oil producing a certified organic extra virgin oil made from heirloom olives exclusively handpicked in the region of Mahdia in Tunisia.”
